HOT 98.1 and FOX Carolina are teaming up again for the BIGGEST Toy Drive of the year!

From December 2nd through the 6th, Dex and Barbie T will be broadcasting LIVE from 6am until 7pm, and collecting new, unwrapped toys and games for the children in the Julie Valentine Center‘s program (read more about the JCV below). Every single toy we collect will be distributed to the hundreds of JVC kids, and we want to get something for EVERY CHILD!

Here’s how you can help:

  • Come to one of our Toy Drive Locations listed here to drop off a new, unwrapped toy or game (see most requested items below)
  • Purchase a toy from this Amazon Wish List or Walmart Wish List (link coming soon!) – right from the couch in your jammies!
  • Have your own Toy Drive at your work, church, organization or club (drop it off during our drive, get a shout-out on the radio!)
  • Make your Amazon Smile beneficiary the Julie Valentine Center
  • Make a monetary donation to the JVC, and indicate it’s part of the HOT 98.1 Toy Drive in the “in honor of” notes section

About the Julie Valentine Center:

In 2011, what was formally known as the Greenville Rape Crisis and Child Abuse Center rebranded as the The Julie Valentine Center. (Julie Valentine was the name law enforcement gave a “Jane Doe” infant that was found in Greenville County in the early ’90s.) They have about 800 children that benefit from their services each year. Every holiday season, the small JVC staff works tirelessly to provide gifts and toys to those children, because so many of them are living in group homes, foster homes, with non-relatives or guardians, and in households under the poverty line; without our help, they would receive few if any gifts.
The Julie Valentine Center is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides free, confidential services to victims of sexual assault and child abuse. We are one of 14 rape crisis centers in South Carolina. We also educate the community on how to identify, respond to, and prevent sexual violence and child abuse. Our mission statement and philosophy provide the framework for all of our services. We at JVC advocate for and support survivors of sexual assault and child abuse. We ensure that survivors are respected, valued and their voices are heard. Some of our core values include trust, compassion, empowerment, accountability and inclusion.
